The San Diego Chargers made a roster move on Monday, signing undrafted rookie safety Adrian Phillips.
At 5-10 and 210 pounds, the University of Texas product started all 13 games at safety in 2013. Phillips was an honorable mention All-Big 12 selection, finishing second on the team in tackles (82).
Phillips also has versatility, playing some cornerback while at Texas.
The Chargers now have seven safeties on the 90-man roster as the team prepares for the start of a mandatory, three-day minicamp on Tuesday.
In order to make room for Phillips, the Chargers released Portland State product running back D.J. Adams.
