SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Chargers announced on Friday that the team signed cornerback Lowell Rose to the training camp roster.

Rose spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets, but did not appear in any regular-season games with those teams last season.

At 6-foot-1 and 192 pounds, the Tulsa product finished with 113 tackles, 21 pass breakups and three interceptions in 36 career games in college. Rose was an honorable mention All-Conference USA selection his senior season in 2012, posting 56 tackles, 10 pass breakups, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

According to the team, the Chargers were at 89 players and had room to sign someone. The Chargers now have 11 cornerbacks on the 90-man roster.
