Morning Links: Chargers snubbed
By Eric D. Williams
SAN DIEGO -- Good Morning. In this ESPN Insider piece, Steve Palazzolo and Khaled Elsayed of Pro Football Focus draft two competing NFL Pro Bowl rosters at the midpoint of this season.
As you probably know, the format of this year’s Pro Bowl has changed, with Hall of Famers Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders selecting players for their teams invited to the Pro Bowl like we did back in the day on the playground.
So Pro Football Focus is getting a head start on the selections. In somewhat of a surprise, no San Diego players made the cut.
In this ESPN Insider piece, Steve Muench of Scouts Inc. takes a look at a couple of the top pass rushers who could be available in next year’s draft in South Carolina’s Jadeveon Clowney and South Florida’s Aaron Lynch. Pass rusher is an area of need for the Chargers.
Ricky Henne of Chargers.com notes that with Philip Rivers and wife Tiffany recently having their seventh child, the Chargers had four newborns in this month. Other new fathers include running back Danny Woodhead, fullback Le’Ron McClain and reserve quarterback Brad Sorensen. Center Nick Hardwick and wife Jayme also are expecting their second child in a few weeks.
ESPN’s John Keim takes a closer look at five questions facing Washington this week. At 2-5, Washington is facing a must-win game at home against San Diego if the team wants to get back into the NFC playoff hunt.
