The Chargers announced the team brought back versatile offensive lineman Stephen Schilling. San Diego made room on the 53-man roster by releasing linebacker Terrell Manning.
At 6-5 and 312 pounds, Schilling was a sixth-round draft choice by San Diego in the 2011 draft out of the University of Michigan. Schilling played in 11 games, starting two, in two seasons with the Chargers. However, he was released during final roster cuts at the end of training camp this year.
The Chargers now have nine offensive linemen on the active roster.
San Diego also signed offensive guard Andrew Tiller to the practice squad. At 6-5 and 326 pounds, Tiller played his college ball at Syracuse, and was a sixth-round selection by New Orleans in the 2012 draft.
However, Tiller suffered a triceps injury, spending his rookie season on the injured reserve list. Tiller was released by New Orleans on Aug. 31.
