SANTA CLARA, Calif.-- The two biggest injury concerns for the San Francisco 49ers -- inside linebacker Patrick Willis and defensive tackle Ray McDonald -- are listed as questionable against the visiting Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Barring setbacks, both should be able to play but will probably be game-time decisions.

Willis has missed the past two games with a groin injury but made progress this week. McDonald, who suffered a bicep injury Sunday against Houston, practiced for the first time this week on Friday. McDonald and 49ers’ coach Jim Harbaugh both said the player expects to play through the injury because there is not a great risk for further damage.

Meanwhile, Harbaugh said the minor foot injury that is bothering quarterback Colin Kaepernick has not affected him. Kaepernick was listed on the injury report with the injury earlier in the season and it reappeared this week. He is listed as probable and has shown no visible signs of an injury.

Of note: Through five games, NFL teams are averaging 23 points a game after five weeks -- tied for the highest in league history through that span. The 49ers are averaging 22 points a game and allowing an average of 19 points per game.
