LONDON – The San Francisco 49ers began their practice week at the tony resort, The Grove, in the English countryside a bit out of London on Wednesday.
The 49ers, on a four-game winning streak headed into a game against winless Jacksonville at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, were in fairly solid health on the practice field. Starting safeties, Donte Whitner and Eric Reid, were practicing. That will be key for the 49ers.
Whitner, who left the win at Tennessee on Sunday with a knee injury, practiced fully. Reid, the team’s first-round pick, wasn’t even on the injury report. He left the game Sunday with an ankle injury, but he did return.
Four players – defensive lineman Justin Smith (shoulder), Ray McDonald (biceps) and Glenn Dorsey (hamstring) and receiver Jon Baldwin (illness) – didn’t practice. But, barring setbacks, all four should play Sunday.
