What it means: The 49ers are a focused bunch. Sure, a blowout over a now 0-8 team may not be considered impressive. But it was a solid win for San Francisco, which now has won five straight. This was an ultimate trap game. The 49ers went out of their way this week to talk up Jacksonville. They may have been trying to convince themselves they were in for a fight. Plus, this game completes a week-plus road trip for San Francisco. The 49ers led 28-0 in the second quarter. San Francisco is now 6-2 at its bye after starting the season 1-2. The 49ers have scored at least 31 points in all five games of this win streak.
Stock watch: Quarterback Colin Kaepernick had a brilliant game. He led the 49ers to touchdowns on their first four drives. He threw a TD and had two TD runs. Kaepernick's numbers weren’t sparkling: He had 164 yards passing, but did run for 54 yards and was dominant in the first half. Kaepernick took what the defense gave him.
Williams' troubles spoil perfect day: Not all went swimmingly for the 49ers across the pond. Return man Kyle Williams, who also started at receiver, had a miserable day. He muffed three would-be touchdowns and had two drops on offense. He was replaced by Anthony Dixon -- whom the 49ers are reportedly shopping ahead of the Tuesday deadline, according to NFL Network -- in the second half, and Dixon had a long return. It will be interesting if Williams gets his return job back.
What’s next: The 49ers have the next week off. They return from their bye Nov. 10 against Carolina for their first home game in four weeks.
