CHARLOTTE -- The San Francisco 49ers will be without starting cornerback Carlos Rogers for the second straight playoff game.

Rogers is inactive for the 49ers’ NFC divisional playoff game at Carolina on Sunday with a hamstring injury. He missed the Green Bay game last week with the injury he suffered in Week 17 at Arizona.

Rogers is expected to be replaced as the nickel cornerback by Perrish Cox. Cox played nickel at Green Bay. The position is likely not going to be as vital as it was last week because the Panthers do not use three-receiver sets as much as the Packers did.
