CHARLOTTE -- When the San Francisco 49ers played the Carolina Panthers in Week 10, quarterback Colin Kaepernick had his worst NFL game in a 10-9 defeat.
That wasn't the case the Sunday in San Francisco's 23-10 divisional playoff win.
In Week 10, Kaepernick was 0-for-6 on passes 10 yards or longer downfield. Sunday he was 6-for-8 for 136 on such passes and averaged 17 yards per attempt, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
A big reason why Kaepernick had success Sunday was receiver Anquan Boldin. Boldin caught 8-of-12 targets for 136 yards. Seven of Kaepernick's 11 passing first downs went to Boldin. Kaepernick was 4-for-4 passing in the second half. All four passes went to Boldin.
