How the 49ers handle trash talking

Jim Harbaugh is one of the most animated coaches in the NFL.

Whether on the sidelines or in news conferences, he is apt to deliver some verbal gold. He has even occasionally taken aim at the opponent. He once made a comment about Seattle players getting suspended for using a banned substance and he poked fun at Green Bay linebacker Clay Matthews for the way he struck one of his players in a melee.

Yet, the 49ers aren’t an overly chirpy bunch. They are a fast, aggressive, physical team. That’s their personality. While I don’t think Harbaugh would mind if some of his players talked a little trash, it really doesn’t happen much.

I’d say the biggest trash talker on the team is receiver Anquan Boldin and he rarely starts verbal feuds. But he has no problem engaging in some verbal warfare if a defender starts it.
