NFLN survey/player safety: 49ers

I thought our health-related questions were among the most interesting of our NFL Nation players survey.

In our poll, an overwhelming amount of players said they would play with a concussion in the Super Bowl. The majority also think the league doesn’t truly value player safety.

I was surprised at the conviction most of the 49ers showed when I asked these questions. Eight of the players polled said they would play in the Super Bowl with a concussion. None of these players hesitated. They would absolutely have no qualms about the decision.

Many players snickered when I asked about the league’s view on player safety. I get the sense many players think the league simply offers player safety views as lip service.

Health is a real issue in the NFL and this survey helped open eyes.
