Will Harbaugh go back to Stanford roots?

The San Francisco 49ers have not drafted any of Jim Harbaugh's former players at Stanford since hiring him away from the school three years ago.

As Harbaugh and the 49ers scout at the NFL combine over the next several days, they will get a chance to look at several Stanford players. The school is sending these eight players to the combine: Running back Tyler Gaffney, fullback Ryan Hewitt, tackle Cameron Fleming, guard David Yankey, defensive end Josh Mauro, linebackers Trent Murphy and Shayne Skov and safety Ed Reynolds.

This may be one of the last chances Harbaugh gets to draft one of his former college players. I could see a player like Skov being interesting the 49ers. It could be smart to take a young inside linebacker to develop and Skov could be an interesting prospect in the mid rounds.
