Inside LBs who could attract 49ers in draft

Last week, we looked at veteran inside 3-4 linebackers the San Francisco 49ers could look at for the short term while NaVorro Bowman recovers from a torn ACL.

The options are not great. That's why perhaps the 49ers, who have 11 draft picks, could use a pick on the position. The team, needs depth at the spot now but could also try to develop a player at the post.

One of the top options in the draft is Stanford's Shayne Skov. The 49ers have the No. 56 and 61 picks in the second round. Perhaps Coach Jim Harbaugh -- who coached Skov on The Farm -- will be tempted.

I do think the 49ers may look to use a later pick at the spot. A potential late third-round option (the 49ers have three picks in the round) could be Connecticut's Yawin Smallwood. Other mid-round options include Wisconsin tackle machine Chris Borland, Western Kentucky's Andrew Jackson and Florida State's Telvin Smith.

With Bowman recovering and Patrick Willis turning 30 next year, adding at this spot may not be the worst idea.
