Receiver Josh Morgan, who previously played for the 49ers, signed with Chicago. He was reportedly connected to the 49ers earlier in free agency, but talks never developed. The 49ers ended up signing veteran Brandon Lloyd, who also previously played for the 49ers. They will likely take a receiver early in the draft.

In a procedural move, inside linebacker Michael Wilhoite signed his exclusive right tender. He could be starter in the first half of the season with NaVorro Bowman recovering from a torn ACL.
