Davis and Boone officially became holdouts this week when they didn’t report to the team’s mandatory minicamp. Previously, they stayed day from the voluntary portion of the camp. Asked about it Tuesday, Harbaugh said "I'm disappointed in that decision for them not to be here. ... [It's] not the decision I envision being the 49er way."
Apparently, Harbaugh likes the phrase.
Thursday, when the team ended minicamp and broke for nearly five weeks before the start of training camp, Harbaugh noted that record 59 players had perfect attendance for the nine-week offseason program. The first eight weeks were voluntary. The 59 players each received a shirt that read: "Perfect attendance 2014. The 49er way."
There is also a street sign placed in between the locker room and the practice field that says "49er Way."
"Tremendous job by our team. Lot of contributions, and I appreciate that one, when the guys volunteer to make the team better."
