San Francisco 49ers: 2013 Week 9 Power Rankings
Preseason: 3 | Last Week: 6 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002
If you told the San Francisco 49ers five weeks ago that they’d be ranked sixth in the Week 9 NFL Power rankings at their bye week, I’m sure they’d take it.
Yes, there is a glut of very strong teams atop the power rankings, and the 49ers have not been able to climb back atop the list, but I’m sure they are satisfied.
The 49ers, who entered Week 2 ranked No. 1 in the Power Rankings, fell to No. 10 after losing to Seattle and Indianapolis in back-to-back weeks.
However, since then, the 49ers have won five straight games and have been dominant in all phases of the game. Their closest game in the streak was a 12-point win. Three of the wins have been by at least 24 points.
While the 49ers have had trouble getting back to the very top of the rankings, they are showing they will be a factor for the long haul.
