RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks corner Richard Sherman and free safety Earl Thomas were named to USA Football’s All-Fundamentals Team for 2013.

USA Football honors 26 NFL players -- 11 on offense, 11 on defense and four special teams players -- who exhibit exemplary football techniques for youth players to emulate.

ESPN NFL analysts Herm Edwards, Bill Polian and Merrill Hoge are on the five-person selection committee for USA Football. Other selectors include Fox Sports analyst Charles Davis and Carl Peterson, the USA Football chairman and former NFL executive.

The goal of the selectors is to choose players who employ proper technique, particularly when blocking and tackling, which fosters better on-field performance and inherent safety benefits.

Each player chosen for the team receives a $1,500 equipment grant to donate to the youth or high school football program of his choice.
