Pinkins become the first Seattle draft choice to agree to a contract. At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, Pinkins played safety in college. But the Seahawks plan to move him to cornerback, continuing their formula of big, physical corners.
Pinkins played what was called the warrior position at San Diego State, which made him more of a nickelback in passing situations.
“As a warrior, we cover the slot receiver,” Pinkins said. “I’m used to guarding receivers a lot. I have cornerback speed. My strengths are that I have good tenacity and really good ball-hawking skills. I bring a lot of physicality to the defense.”
