The Seahawks made a few minor roster moves Thursday on the eve of training camp.

The team signed wide receiver Morrell Presley, who had a tryout during the rookie minicamp in May. Presley is a big-body receiver at 6-foot-3, 225 pounds and could compete for what the team lost when 6-4 Sidney Rice retired Wednesday.

Pressley ended his college career at California University of Pennsylvania (a NCAA Division II school near Pittsburgh) after starting out at UCLA.

The Seahawks also have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver David Gilreath and free agent guard C.J. Davis, both of their agents confirmed Thursday night. Gilreath played college football at Wisconsin before appearing in there games for the Steelers in 2012.

Davis, who played college football at University Pittsburgh, played seven games for the Carolina Panthers in 2010 and half a season for the Denver Broncos in 2012.

The Seahawks also waived two players Thursday – offensive linemen Jared Smith and rookie free-agent tight end Chase Dixon.
