RENTON, Wash. -- The Seattle Seahawks placed outside linebackers Bruce Irvin (hip surgery) and Korey Toomer (hamstring) on the physical unable to perform [PUP] list Friday. Rookie defensive back Eric Pinkins (foot injury) was listed as a non-football injury list.

If a player is on the PUP list now, he can come off it without missing any regular-season games. Irvin had hip surgery on June 2.

“He looks fantastic,” Carroll said of Irvin. “But we’re taking it show with him and probably will go until the end of camp to see how the progress goes. We want to make sure we’re right.”

Carroll said Toomer had a nagging hamstring injury. “That’s unfortunate because he had such a great offseason and we’re so excited about him.”

Pinkins had a boot on his left foot Friday because of a Lisfranc fracture. Carroll said it's four to six weeks for now, but this often is a serious injury that can sideline a player indefinitely. It could mean Pinkins spends his rookie year on injury reserve.

Three other players who had offseason surgery didn’t practice -- offensive tackle Russell Okung (toe), strong safety Kam Chancellor (hip) and outside linebacker Malcolm Smith (ankle). But Carroll believes all three will be ready to practice in a few days.

Offensive tackle Michael Bowie bruised his shoulder early in Friday’s practice, so rookie Justin Britt got most of the reps at right tackle.
