Georgia got a little insurance at the quarterback position Wednesday when Logan Gray announced that he would remain with the Bulldogs next season after considering a transfer to another school.

As expected (and as Georgia coach Mark Richt hinted at recently), Gray hopes to play some at receiver next season and fill in at quarterback as needed. He's one of the most versatile athletes on the team.

Redshirt freshman Aaron Murray goes into the fall as the Bulldogs' No. 1 quarterback, nudging ahead of Gray in the spring. It was after the release of the post-spring depth chart that it came to light that Gray had met with Richt and was considering his options, including a transfer.

"I have decided to stay at the University of Georgia because I truly do love being a Georgia Bulldog." Gray said in a statement. "I want to be a part of this team getting back to the SEC championship game and winning it. I'm also looking forward to getting some work at receiver and am going to work hard to make the best out of my opportunity at this position as well. I appreciate Coach (Mark) Richt's patience while I made this decision and his helpful advice. Now, I want to put all of this behind me and focus on getting to work on preparations for next season at UGA."

Even with Gray's return, the Bulldogs will be extremely inexperienced at the quarterback position. The other option would be incoming freshman Hutson Mason, who doesn't arrive until this summer.
