Kiffin finally sways Orgeron to Tennessee

Ed Orgeron is known as one of the best recruiters in college football, but he's the one who's been recruited for the last several weeks.
The recruiting tug-of-war ended Wednesday when the former Ole Miss coach agreed to join Lane Kiffin's staff at Tennessee as associate head coach, recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach. The deal was finalized when Kiffin and his father, new Tennessee defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, met with Orgeron on Wednesday morning.
There were multiple reports Tuesday night that Orgeron was headed to LSU to join Les Miles' staff, and at one point, Orgeron was also telling people he was leaning toward staying with the New Orleans Saints, where he was the defensive line coach this season.
Monte Kiffin and Orgeron were the two centerpieces of the staff Lane Kiffin had hoped to put together when he was hired at Tennessee. He's also finalized a deal for former St. Louis Rams assistant Jim Chaney to join him at Tennessee as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. Chaney was at Purdue for nine seasons before going to the NFL and worked under Joe Tiller as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
And if you think the money is getting out of control in college football, do yourself a favor and don't add up the salaries of the Vols' staff.
The tally is expected to be somewhere around $3 million, which includes more than $1 million for Monte Kiffin and more than $600,000 for Orgeron.
