Even though Florida coach Urban Meyer never signed his new six-year, $24 million contract, Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley said there are no issues and that Meyer will sign the papers in the next month or so.
The two sides agreed last August to Meyer's new $4 million-a-year deal. Meyer never signed it, though, and resigned for a day this past December citing health concerns before changing his mind and saying he would instead take a leave of absence.
"There are no hang-ups," Foley told ESPN.com's Mike Fish. "Bottom line, he has a [previously signed] contract that has four years left to run on it. It's not like he doesn't have a contract. And he is getting compensated at the new rate [$4 million a year]. We have an agreement with Urban Meyer at the new rate, and the contract will get signed here shortly."
