ESPN recruiting analyst Jamie Newberg takes a closer look at Ole Miss' recruiting efforts under Houston Nutt.

The Rebels may do things a little differently, but they're still having success. Each of their last two classes has been ranked in the top 25 by ESPN.

What Nutt and his staff have excelled at is committing prospects later in the process. The current trend is to load up on commitments early and have as many as possible on board going into the season. But as Newberg points out, the Rebels have committed 44 prospects over the last two years from Thanksgiving to national signing day, which always falls on the first Wednesday in February.

That's what you call getting busy on the recruiting trail in crunch time.

This year, the Rebels have gotten off to a quicker start. They already have 13 commitments and have done a good job of getting prospects on campus.

I agree with Newberg in that Ole Miss' football facilities are some of the finest in the SEC. In fact, I think the 150,000-square foot indoor practice facility with all the meeting rooms, coaches offices, lounges and weight room -- not to mention the cool tunnel to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium -- is the best of its kind in the SEC.
