LSU worked primarily on first-and-10 and short-yardage situations in its scrimmage this past Saturday, but coach Les Miles came away impressed with freshman quarterback Zach Lee, who may have a big decision to make Tuesday if he receives the kind of offer that's being talked about in baseball circles by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Miles, perhaps doing his best to keep Lee at LSU for the next couple of years, said he had no plans to redshirt Lee and that he would compete for the starting job this season. The scrimmage was closed to the public, and no statistics for Lee were released.

One of the biggest blows for the Tigers came in Friday night's practice prior to the scrimmage when starting weakside linebacker Ryan Baker broke his jaw. Baker's likely to miss the opener against North Carolina, but the Tigers hope he can return in time for the second game against Vanderbilt. LSU was already inexperienced and extremely young at the linebacker position.

Here's a link to the report from the scrimmage thanks to the LSU sports information staff.
