The SEC has extended its contract with SEC commissioner Mike Slive through 2012, the league's presidents and chancellors announced Thursday.

Slive came to the SEC in 2002 from Conference USA. He recently brokered the huge television deal with CBS and ESPN. The 15-year arrangement is expected to be worth an average of $205 million annually beginning this fall.

So it goes without saying that Slive is in extremely good graces with the administrators and athletic directors around the league.
