Many in and around the Tennessee program felt star punter Britton Colquitt had already exhausted his chances when he was arrested in February and charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. He'd had several other alcohol-related issues earlier in his career, including a DUI charge that was dismissed in 2004.

Fulmer was close to booting Colquitt off the team, but relented and instead stripped him of his scholarship and suspended him for the first five games of the 2008 season. Earlier today, Colquitt pleaded guilty to DUI in Sessions Court and told the Knoxville News-Sentinel that "God is teaching me a big lesson."

Here's hoping Colquitt follows through and makes the most of this latest chance. Still, you can't help but wonder if he'd even be getting another chance if his last name weren't Colquitt.
