Now that South Carolina junior defensive tackle Ladi Ajiboye has been suspended "until further notice," according to South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, the door is wide open for a couple of guys who started their college careers at other positions.

Junior Travian Robertson moves inside to tackle after coming to South Carolina as an end. He worked with the first unit on Monday alongside senior Nathan Pepper.

The other guy to watch at tackle this spring is sophomore Melvin Ingram, who played middle linebacker two years ago as a true freshman. But Ingram had foot surgery last spring and redshirted during the 2008 season. Here's the other thing: He weighed in the 260-pound range when he played linebacker. Well, he's now up to 297 pounds and looks every bit the part of an SEC tackle.

Robertson has also bulked up and is somewhere around 285 pounds.

The Gamecocks don't have a lot of depth at tackle, so it's particularly important that Robertson and Ingram both stay healthy and have big springs.

It also sounds likely that Ajiboye will have a chance to come back if he takes care of some of his academic work. He remains in school, but isn't participating in any football activities.

"We'll see how it turns out in a week or two," Spurrier said of Ajiboye's future.
