Florida could be without one of its best offensive playmakers for all of the season or part of the season depending on what comes back from the MRI on tight end Cornelius Ingram's knee. He suffered the injury Tuesday during a one-on-one drill and didn't practice Wednesday.
I'll be heading to Florida on Thursday to spend a couple of days at the Gators' preseason camp. They have media day scheduled for Friday, so we should know more about the seriousness of Ingram's injury on Thursday. He was going to play a big role in the offense this season after catching seven touchdown passes a year ago.
The good news for the Gators is that they also have sophomore tight end Aaron Hernandez, who's equally talented and could certainly step in for Ingram. But the plan this season was to use both Ingram and Hernandez together some in a new two-tight end set the Gators installed to take advantage of their versatility.
