Mississippi State's already thin cornerback position just got a lot thinner.

Cornerback Anthony Johnson plans to transfer at the end of the semester, Brad Locke of The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports.

Johnson has been suspended from the team since his involvement in a shooting incident on campus in March 2008. He didn't play at all last season, but started 11 games and had three interceptions as a freshman in 2007. His 103-yard interception return for a touchdown sealed Mississippi State's 17-12 win over Alabama.

With Johnson headed elsewhere, the Bulldogs will await the status of junior college transfer Maurice Langston, who remains suspended after being arrested in February and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Marcus Washington is working as one of the starting cornerbacks this spring, with Damein Anderson and Louis Watson both working with the first group at the other cornerback spot.
