Florida coach Urban Meyer says the NCAA should take a look at what Auburn is doing with its use of stretch limos on the recruiting trail.
Meyer also took a shot at the Tennessee staff when he said, "The Florida coaching staff will not be riding around in limos or ripping off our shirts."
The NCAA has tried over the last few years to make recruiting less of a circus than it already is through beefed-up legislation concerning official visits.
But let's face it. The best recruiters are usually the ones who figure out a way to stay ahead of the game and continually push the envelope. It's like Nick Saban using video conferencing to talk with recruits when head coaches were taken off the road last year during the spring evaluation period.
Every coach (even Meyer) is constantly trying to come up with a new angle or something fresh to make an impression on these kids.
Sort of like Meyer becoming phone pals with the girlfriend of a top junior college prospect when that girlfriend was attending the same junior college and also being recruiting by the Gators to be a member of the gymnastics team.
It's called working the system.
