The bad news just keeps pouring in for Georgia. Trinton Sturdivant, the Bulldogs' starting left offensive tackle, injured his knee Monday during a scrimmage.

Sturdivant, a sophomore and considered Georgia's top returning offensive lineman, was carted off the field and taken to an Athens hospital. The results of an MRI were not immediately known. Last season, Sturdivant started all 13 games while protecting quarterback Matthew Stafford's blind side and was named All-Freshman by the league's coaches.

If Sturdivant is out for any length of time, sophomores Josh Davis and Kiante Tripp would be the top candidates to replace him.

The Bulldogs, ranked No. 1 in the coaches' preseason poll, had already weathered a rough offseason where eight players were arrested. Six of those players were either suspended or dismissed from the team.
