Kentucky senior quarterback Mike Hartline, coming off the best season of his career, was arrested early Friday morning in Lexington and charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, alcohol intoxication in a public place and failure to notify authorities of an address change.

A more serious charge, according to the police report, is that a woman told police that Hartline hit her, causing pain in her lower jaw. Officers didn't notice any visible injury and told the woman that she would need to press charges downtown if she wanted to take further action.

Police were called after neighbors reported a disorder involving several people. According to police, there was a verbal altercation and possibly a physical altercation and that Hartline was outside "yelling, screaming and cursing at the witness," according to the police report. Police said Hartline was unsteady on his feet and that his speech was slurred and he smelled like alcohol.

Kentucky coach Joker Phillips is aware of the incident and has a decision to make regarding Hartline's status for the BBVA Compass Bowl. Hartline, who has battled through injuries and on-the-field struggles earlier in his career, passed for 3,178 yards and 23 touchdowns this season and was also one of the strongest leaders on the team.
