With all the hoopla surrounding how well Alabama and Florida are recruiting, don't forget about LSU.

The Tigers landed offensive tackle Evan Washington of DeSoto, Texas, on Tuesday, continuing what's been an impressive run for them in the Dallas area. They also have commitments for the 2010 class from quarterback Zach Lee and receiver Mike Davis.

Of LSU's 16 commitments, nine are ESPNU 150 Watch List prospects. The 6-foot-6, 286-pound Washington is also an Under Armour All-American. He's the son of former NFL defensive end Marvin Washington.

And while everybody that follows recruiting probably gets a little too caught up in where players are ranked, the best gauge is typically who else wanted them. Just about everybody wanted Washington. He picked LSU over Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Alabama, Auburn, Miami and Nebraska.
