Arkansas joins LSU as the two SEC schools who will have their spring football games televised live by ESPN this year.
It had already been announced that LSU's spring game on April 9 would be televised by ESPN with a 4 p.m. ET kickoff. That next weekend, on April 16, Arkansas' spring game will also be televised by ESPN with a 3 p.m. ET kickoff.
It's the first time Arkansas' spring game has been televised live by ESPN. The Hogs' 2006 spring game was televised by ESPNU on tape delay.
“This is a great opportunity for fans to once again show the pride and passion they have for the Razorbacks,” Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino said. “The atmosphere our fans created at our games last year was electric, and recruits responded in a positive way to our coaches about the environment they saw. I believe the time of the game gives fans statewide a chance to be a part of sharing our program with a national audience.”
This will be the second straight year that ESPN has televised LSU's spring game live.
LSU opens spring practice this Friday, while Arkansas will begin its spring drills next Tuesday.
