The North Carolina-South Carolina matchup scheduled for Williams-Brice Stadium in 2010 may be put off a year or two.
That's because North Carolina is trying to close a deal to face LSU to open the 2010 season in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic in Atlanta.
South Carolina athletic director Eric Hyman said nothing was "etched in stone," but confirmed that he would agree to reschedule the North Carolina game if everything worked out for the Gamecocks.
Finding a suitable replacement for North Carolina in 2010 would be one of South Carolina's demands. Also, look for the Gamecocks to open the season against North Carolina on ESPN in whatever year that game is rescheduled.
North Carolina still owes South Carolina a game after the Gamecocks played in Chapel Hill, N.C., during the 2007 season.
