Former LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson remains No. 1 on Mel Kiper's latest Big Board of the top 25 NFL draft prospects.
Kiper has Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley at No. 3 this week with Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller moving into the No. 2 spot.
There was a lot of chatter a couple of weeks ago about Fairley possibly sliding down to the No. 8 pick or lower, although I'll have to see that to believe it. Auburn coach Gene Chizik feels the same way. In visiting with Chizik last week, he thinks it's all a smokescreen and that Fairley will go somewhere in the top five picks.
Alabama defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is right behind Fairley at No. 4, and Georgia receiver A.J. Green is No. 5 -- giving the SEC four of the top five players on Kiper's Big Board.
Alabama receiver Julio Jones is No. 11, Auburn quarterback Cam Newton No. 13 and Alabama running back Mark Ingram No. 19.
There's a very realistic scenario out there where five of the top 15 picks in the draft could come from either Alabama or Auburn.
Talk about stocking up on talent.
