Today was SEC West preview day on ESPN.com, and here are a few stories from the main college football page you might have missed:

Forde: Optimism running high at Ole Miss
Optimism is at an all-time high at Ole Miss. But for the Rebels to join the SEC Big Boy Club, that feeling needs to be there in December, too.

Low: SEC QBs include Big Two and everybody else
The SEC features the Big Two at QB and then everybody else. At least eight new full-time starters will have to prove themselves in 2009.

Schlabach: Arkansas' urban legend
QB Ryan Mallett has become somewhat of an urban legend in Arkansas. Time to separate the myths from the facts before he finally takes the field for the Hogs.

Low: LSU ready to follow the leader
Jordan Jefferson might be the youngest starting QB in the SEC, but he's developed into the epitome of a leader at LSU.

Low: Living on the edge
The SEC is loaded with fearsome pass-rushers who leave QBs looking over their shoulders and offensive coordinators adjusting the game plan.
