SEC fans have been known to beat their chests on occasion, and we here at the SEC blog have been known to enable that league-wide pride.

Again, only on occasion.

But here’s a factoid that should make SEC fans proud: The SEC is the only league in the country this school year to send somebody to the BCS National Championship Game in football, the Final Four in men’s basketball and the College World Series in baseball.

Auburn won the national title in football with a 22-19 victory against Oregon.

Kentucky made the Final Four in men's basketball, losing in the national semifinals to eventual national champion Connecticut.

And three SEC baseball teams are off to the College World Series -- Florida, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. The Gamecocks are trying to repeat as national champions.
