Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen wouldn't confirm Monday whether senior running back Anthony Dixon would be suspended for Saturday's opener against Jackson State.
Mullen said Dixon's status would be determined later in the week "obviously by us."
Dixon, who has 2,603 career rushing yards, pleaded guilty earlier this month to DUI. He was arrested in July in Starkville just a couple of weeks before the start of preseason practice.
"Anthony is working hard to fulfill his requirements for some of the things that we’ve proposed for him to get back in good standing with the team," Mullen told reporters.
