A closer look at the SEC quarterbacks

With all the talk about quarterback play in this conference, the good and the bad, let’s examine what the starters have done in terms of their career numbers and their numbers last season.

Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen has yet to name a starter, so we’ll go with senior Tyson Lee as the projected starter.

The quarterbacks are listed in order of career starts. The career statistics of Jevan Snead and Ryan Mallett also reflect their time at their previous stops, Snead at Texas and Mallett at Michigan.

If there was any question about how unproven the league is at quarterback, check out the career starts. Six of the 12 guys scheduled to start this weekend have made three or fewer starts during their career
