The LSU saga continues.

Wednesday, a day after quarterback Jordan Jefferson, offensive lineman Chris Davenport, linebacker Josh Johns and receiver Jarvis Landry met with police, Jefferson's apartment was searched by officers, who collected a swab of his DNA in connection with last week's bar fight.

There have been no arrests or charges filed, but if the DNA found links Jefferson to the fight legal action could be taken.

But things have stretched beyond the legal world and ended up in the hands of fans. According to a report in the New Orleans Times Picayune, Jefferson received racially charged messages and death threats on his LSU Facebook page, LSU Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette told the Times Picayune.

The threats apparently stemmed from reports that Jefferson allegedly kicked a marine in the head while he was down during the fight.

This whole incident must be a total nightmare for the LSU program. With little more than a week until the opener against Oregon at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, the Tigers are basically staggering toward the start of the season. Coach Les Miles went from praising his team to being significantly irritated and mad by the actions displayed at an off-campus bar.

Now, Miles has to figure out how many reps he'll give Jefferson and fellow quarterbacks Jarrett Lee and Zach Mettenberger in the remaining practices. Even though Jefferson hasn't been charged, it would make sense for Miles to prepare for him to be both in and out of the game against the Ducks.

That certainly doesn't make things easy and that certainly won't make Miles happy.
