Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino sounded optimistic Wednesday that senior defensive end Jake Bequette would be able to return this Saturday against Auburn.

"It looks like it. He practiced [Tuesday] night and did a good job," Petrino said.

Bequette (hamstring) hasn't played since the first quarter of the New Mexico game the second week of the season. The Hogs miss his production and his leadership, especially with their other starting end, junior Tenarius Wright, out for several more weeks with a broken arm.

Petrino wasn't as forthcoming Wednesday about the status of defensive tackle Robert Thomas, who injured his knee last week against Texas A&M.

"He's getting better every day," Petrino said.

The Hogs do expect senior receiver Joe Adams to play after injuring his ribs last week and not playing in the second half against the Aggies.
