Alabama's Jones, Upchurch still on hold

Alabama coach Nick Saban said he's unsure whether receiver Julio Jones and running back Roy Upchurch will be healthy enough to play this Saturday against North Texas.

Jones is nursing a bruised knee and Upchurch a high ankle sprain. Saban said both players have improved significantly but that he won't know if either will be available until after practice Wednesday.

Saban said both Jones and Upchurch have been doing some things in practice this week in terms of running. He said Jones has probably been able to do a little more.

"The big thing is how they respond and react the next day (following Wednesday's practice) in terms of soreness," Saban said. "Everything's just day-to-day."
