The fans are once again going with Alabama.

With more than 8,800 votes cast, Alabama was picked in our poll to have the biggest national signing day by winning 39 percent of the vote. The Crimson Tide entered Wednesday with the nation's No. 1 class, according to ESPN recruiting services, and could easily end Wednesday the same way.

Top commitment Landon Collins (Geismar, La., Dutchtown) hasn't signed anything and his mother has her heart set on LSU, but it doesn't sound like there will be a last-minute change. Of course this is recruiting ...

Alabama is also in the running for other top prospects, like No. 1 defensive tackle Eddie Goldman (Washington, D.C./Collegiate Academy), No. 3 outside linebacker Kwon Alexander (Oxford, Ala.) and No. 8 defensive tackle Korren Kirven (Lynchburg, Va./Brookville), so there's a chance the Tide could add to what is already an outstanding class.

Tied for second were Arkansas and Florida. Both coaching staffs have their eyes on some pretty good players still set to announce. Arkansas is still hoping to land No. 1 wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham (Springfield, Mo./Hillcrest), top athlete Davonte Neal (Scottsdale, Ariz./Chaparral) and No. 10 offensive tackle Jordan Diamond (Chicago, Ill./Simeon). Getting those players might be enough to call Arkansas' finish the best in the SEC.

Florida could have a very good day or a disappointing day. Florida entered the weekend as the the leader for No. 1 cornerback Tracy Howard (Miramar, Fla.), but now appears to be behind Miami. The Gators are still in the running for prospects, like No. 1 outside linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons (Valdosta, Ga./Lowndes), No. 6 wide receiver Nelson Agholor (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley), No. 5 defensive tackle Leonard Williams (Daytona Beach, Fla./Mainland), No. 8 offensive tackle Avery Young (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and Florida State defensive end commit Dante Fowler ((St. Petersburg, Fla./Lakewood).

However, there's a chance the Gators could miss out on each one of them and will have to wait until Feb. 10 on No. 3 athlete Stefon Diggs (Olney, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel).

Georgia grabbed 12 percent of the vote, while Auburn claimed 11 percent. Both schools could have big days. Both have a lot of room and a lot of prospects still considering them. Georgia could come away with Harvey-Clemons and Young and are still hoping to land junior college wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (Rock Hill, S.C./Hutchinson Community College).

Auburn is looking at most of the prospects mentioned prior. Goldman has shown a lot of interest in Auburn and there's a strong chance they could get former Tigers commitment Ricardo Louis (Miami Beach, Fla.), who is the No. 5 athlete, back in the fold. Also, No. 3 cornerback Ronald Darby (Oxon Hill, Md./Potomac) is still considering Auburn.

Things are setting up to be pretty exciting in the SEC on the first Wednesday of February.
