Hogs sign 24 in 2012 class

Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino announced 24 signees on Wednesday.

It was an even split with 12 of the players being offensive players and the other 12 defensive players.

The Hogs didn't sign any ESPNU 150 prospects and lost out to Missouri on signing day for the top-rated receiver in the country -- Dorial Green-Beckham. Top junior college receiver Courtney Gardner also flipped from Arkansas to Oklahoma.

Still, Arkansas landed a pair of receivers ranked among the top 30 pass-catchers in the country -- D'Arthur Cowan of Olive Branch, Miss., and Keon Hatcher of Owasso, Okla.

In addition, the Hogs were able to steal linebacker Otha Peters of Covington, La., away from Tennessee in the final hour. Six of Arkansas' signees were from the state of Texas.
