Chivalry isn’t dead in the SEC after all.
Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley and Florida coach Urban Meyer wrote a letter to editor of The Lexington Herald-Leader thanking the entire Kentucky community for the support everyone showed when Tim Tebow was hurt last Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium.
Kentucky coach Rich Brooks had already called on behalf of the Wildcats’ football team to check on Tebow, a gesture that obviously meant a lot to Meyer.
“You talk about first-class people,” Meyer said.
Given some of the sniping we’ve seen around the conference, in particular the verbal sparring between Lane Kiffin and Meyer, it’s refreshing to see everybody rise to the occasion in such a classy manner.
