Auburn has released the salaries of its new assistant coaches, and defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder will earn $850,000, tying him with Alabama's Kirby Smart as the highest-paid defensive coordinator in college football.

Offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler will earn $500,000. Both coaches signed two-year deals and will receive an extra $25,000 bonus for each season they complete.

Secondary coach Willie Martinez signed a one-year deal worth $255,000.

Last season, Auburn had the highest-paid staff of assistant coaches in the country, according to figures compiled by USA Today. Former offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, who's now the head coach at Arkansas State, topped all assistants nationally at $1.3 million per year.
