After what happened to Ole Miss last week at South Carolina, the Rebels just needed to win -- period.
That said, their 23-7 victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday still left some questions unanswered, namely whether junior quarterback Jevan Snead is playing at a level that can lead this team to a Western Division championship.
We'll find out a lot more next week when No. 3-ranked Alabama comes to Oxford. Snead, who struggled mightily against the Gamecocks, threw three touchdown passes against the Commodores, but he also threw three interceptions.
Snead has certainly had his problems against the Commodores, who intercepted him four times a year ago.
The Rebels (3-1, 1-1) will not be able to turn the ball over against the Crimson Tide and expect to win. The encouraging thing is that Tyrone Nix's defense is playing lights out right now.
