Georgia true freshman running back Washaun Ealey isn't slated to start against Tennessee this weekend, but he'll get plenty of opportunities against the Vols to show what he can do.

Caleb King likely won't play after breaking his jaw last week in the LSU game. But the truth is that Ealey was already going to see his role expanded after pumping a little life into the Bulldogs' running game against the Tigers.

After not playing any this season, Ealey entered the LSU game in the third quarter and rushed for a team-high 33 yards on eight carries. It may not sound like much, but the Bulldogs will take any production they can get right now in the running game. They're last in the SEC in rushing offense, and Richard Samuel and King had combined for just 16 yards rushing when Ealey entered the game last Saturday.

Even Ealey, who scored a Georgia state record 133 touchdowns in high school, was thinking that he was probably going to end up redshirting this season, especially since he hurt his elbow in high school.

But he may be Georgia's best hope now to resuscitate its once-proud running game.

While conceding that Ealey wasn't up to speed on everything the Bulldogs were doing offensively, Georgia coach Mark Richt said getting him on the field against the Vols would be a priority.

"We like what Washaun did, and he will definitely play ... and probably more than he played [against LSU]," Richt said.
